Ranchi: Reviewing the function of the tourism department he said that the
state had potential far bigger than that of Gujrat and Kerala but
unfortunately the tourists spots were not developed neither
advertisement about them was done. He said that the government was
committed to bring Jharkhand on international tourist map which would
also help to earn foreign exchange and create jobs for the locals. He
asked to start awards in name of international level local players.
The Chief Minister said that work should be done on the basis of
tourism circuit and asked to accord focus on
Tarapeeth-Maluti-Basukinath-Deoghar circuit, Bodhgaya-Itkhori Cicruit,
Ranchi-Rajrappa circuit and Ghatshila-Dimna-Dalma-Chandil circuits.
He asked to run tourists buses and also undertake development of Anjan
Dham of Gumla district and suggested to take help of the experts. He
asked the officials to explore the option of Highway Toursim and also
said that Rajrappa be developed on the likes of Maa Viashnoa Devi
Temple. Mr Das sad that arrangements should be made in such a manner
that devotees visiting during the shravani mela do not face any
problems and said that he himself would be visiting Deoghar to review
the preparations. He also asked to organize a state level triabl
festival.
Over the functioning of the sports department he said that in entire
state sporting events be held and directed to complete the task of
forming Kamal Club by June. He said that across the state simultaneous
distribution of kits would be done at the panchayat level in which the
MPs and MLAs would also participate. He asked the officials to make
arrangements for good coaches and suggested that retired player be
roped in as coaches. He said that children who have won awards in
different sports meet would also be felicitated.
Reviewing the functioning of the road construction department he asked
the officials to bring transparency in the tender process. He asked
them to ensure that one contractor does not get many orders which
dents the image of the state government and said that such contractors
which do quality work should be accorded priority. He said that such
contractors be debarred who do not work and asked to appoint
