Miscreants throw stones on city bus during its initial run on MG Road

Ranchi: For the first time on Sunday on the MG Road of the state capital popularly known as the main road among the people the city bus were operated by the Ranchi Municipal Corporation.

However the first day itself serious questions have arisen on the security of the bus and its travellers as some anti-social elements pelted stone on the bus due to which the back window got broken and a couple of youths sustained
injuries.

The RMC had made elaborate arrangements to run the city bus on the main road and to ensure that e-rickshaw drivers do not create nuisance in running the bus enforcement officers had been deployed and even the police stations were instructed to ensure that e-rickshaw were not operated and in case anyone was spotter they were to be seized.

However, despite all the arrangements, the anti-social elements managed to pelt stones on the bus on the overbridge and managed to flee from the spot.

The RMC had got 10 city buses to run on the main road which it had purchased two years ago. People started to join the bus ride as soon as it started as they had to pay just Rs 5 to travel from Albert Ekka Chowk to Rajendra Chowk while the e-rickshaw charged Rs 10.
