JVM(P) makes 5 lakh new members during fortnight membership drive

Ranchi: The fortnight membership drive of the JVM(P) came to an end on Sunday during which the party claimed to have made 5 lakh new members in the state, however, an official announcement in this regard will be made in the meeting of central working committee which will be held on August 25.

Addressing a programme here former Chief Minister and Party Supremo Babulal Marandi said that party had kept a target to make only 2.5 lakh members in the state however the party workers with their hard work made more than 5 lakh members across the state.

He said that politics of the state was taking a turn and claimed that BJP was most worried from his party as people were rallying behind the thoughts of the party and people were searching for an alternative after the failures of the Raghubar Government.

He said that if Jharkhand has to come back on the path of development than people needed to vote for his party and said that in last 5 years no industries were set up in the state but many of them closed their shops and people lost their jobs due to which many of them were forced to commit suicide.

Attacking the state government he said that Raghubar Government had assured the people to provide 24 hours of power to the people and had said that if he would not able to deliver on the promise than he would not seek their votes but the overall condition of power supply was pathetic in the state.

Mr Marandi said that power is being purchased at a higher cost from outside and is being sold to the people and claimed that the state government has lost its will power. He said that youth are migrating from the state while farmers were not getting the money for crop insurance and even the government had failed to give the right price of the produce to the farmers. He also attacked the state government over the declining law and order condition.
