Need to keep women healthy says Guv

Khunti: Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu participated in a mega health camp organized at the Khunti Sadar Hospital during which she said that there was a need to keep the women healthy as than only they would be able to give due attention to their families.

She said that the government was working to improve the facilities at the Sadar Hospitals and is putting up new machines, even the doctors are being trained so that they do not face any problem in the treatment of the patients.

Addressing the function Rural Development Minister Neelkanth Singh Munda said that health was the biggest wealth for the people and all should remain aware of their health. He said that to maintain good health one should regularly do exercise along with physical hard work. He also stressed on the need to organize camps in the area for treatment of the eyes of the people.

The camp was jointly organized by Women Doctors Wing of IMA Jharkhand, All India Eye Society Jharkhand Eye Society , Kashyap Eye Memorial Hospital and Health Department Government of Jharkhand.

During the function, the dignitaries handed over a couple of machines used for eye testing and ailments related to eyes to the people of Khunti. In the camp, the doctors undertook the treatment of the women who had visited the spot while the doctors were also given training about the cervical pre-cancer tests and treatment and digital video Calposcop tests.

The women who had come to the camp were also given one month dose of iron-folic acid and calcium. Khunti Sadar Hospital has become the 11th Sadar Hospital in the state were arrangements for pre cancer test in ovary as breast and cervical cancer cause a maximum number of deaths in the country.
