PLFI band hits vehicle movement

Ranchi, Apr 24: The day long bandh called by the ultras of the
People’s Liberation Front of India protesting arresting of the wife of
their commander hit vehicular movement in some of the districts of the
state.
However the bandh did not have any impact on the urban areas of the
state and neither the rail traffic movement was hit. But buses plying
from Ranchi to Khunti, Gumla and Lohardaga districts did not move.
Due to the non movement of the buses to these district people had a
very tough time commuting from the ITI bus stand of the capital. The
bandh also had its impact in Gumla, Simdega, Khunti, Chaibasa and the
East Singhbhum district. Even turn out at government offices was less
in numbers.
In wake of the bandh police had made adequate security arrangements.
During the bandh patrolling had been intensified on the NH and the SH
while police was also keeping a tab on the train movement. However no
untoward incident was reported from any area.
Police had arrested Sangeeta Devi wife of PLFI commander Gaju Gope.
Sangeeta is a government nurse but police said that she use to collect
levy in the name of PLFI and has accumulated lots of wealth. The PLFI
had called the bandh to protest her arresting and has threatened to
kidnap family members of the policemen.
