Jharkhand welcomes Mukund Nayak after being awarded Padamshri

Ranchi, Apr 1: The state rolled out the red carpet to welcome noted
folk artist Mukund Nayak who was warded the Padamshri by the President
of the nation at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi.
Upon his arrival in the state capital Chief Minister Raghubar Das
welcomed Mr Nayak and also felicitated him during which local artists
were also present. He said that Akharas have played a vital role in
keeping alive the traditional art forms of the state. He said that art
and music flowed in the veins of the state and added that film policy
would also help the locals artists of the state.
A public felicitation was organised for Mukund Nayak and the local
artists also performed traditional dance and music to welcome him.
A Joint felicitation function was organised by the Mukund Naik
Foundation and Kunjbuzz at the Saint Pauls ground here where Mr Naik
dedicated his award to the local artists and also felicitated his
co-artists and performers.
Former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahai said that Naik Ji was
a treasure for the state who through his songs has been brought smile
on the faces of the people in tense environment. He said that he himself
had known Naik for the last three decades and he was been teh tru flag
bearer of the folk art and dance of the state.
Former HRD minister Bandhu Tirkey, BJP MLA Ramkumar Pahan, Cardnial
Telsophere P Toppo also addressed the function.
