Dhanbad, Mar 29: In a major break through for the Dhanbad Police which
is probing into the murder of Congress leader and former deputy mayor
of Dhanbad Neeraj Singh, three persons have been arrested alongwith
arms and ammunitions.
SSP Dhanbad Manoj Ratan Chouthe said that on the basis of secret
information we have arrested three persons and have recovered one 9 mm
regular pistol made in Belgium (probably government owned) and
prohibited bore along with one Webley Scott revolver made in USA.
“We have also recovered 7.62 mm and 9 mm cartridges from them. We
are verifying the fact whether this pistol is used or not in the
murder case of Neeraj Singh. It needs to be verified
significantly ,”the SSP said adding that further updates would be
shared.
The arrested include Prashant Singh, Monu Singh Ashok Mahto. With the
arrest of thr trio the number of arrests so far in the case has
increased to six. All the arrested so far are considered to be
loyalists of the Singh Mansion.
However Dhanbad Police has refrained from naming Jharia’s BJP MLA
Sanjeev Singh and his younger brother Sidhart Gautam in the case.
