Dumka, Mar 29: The district animal husbandry officer alongwith with
the accountant of the department were nabbed red-handed by the sleuths
of the Anti-Corruption Bureau while they were accepting a bribe of Rs
20,000.
ACB officials said here that the arrested have been identified as
district animal husbandry officer Vijay Kumar Singh and accountant
Arbind Kumar Singh. The duo had demanded the bribe from visiting
veterinary doctor Dilip Kumar Razak for re-starting his closed salary.
The duo were arrested from the office of animal husbandry department
located at Shivpahar here.
Later both of them were sent to Dhanbad by the ACB Team. While Dr
Vijay Singh is a resident of Kanke of Ranchi district, the accountant
Arbind was a local. The complainant Dr Dilip Kumar was posted in
Ranishwar block six months ago. He was allegedly accused of not
working properly on the charges of which his salary for the last four
months was stopped.
To re-start the salary the head and the accountant demanded for a
bribe of Rs 30,000 out of which Rs 10,000 was paid earlier. Later Dr
Dilip lodged a complaint with ACB, After the verification of the
complaint the ACB swung into action and laid a trap in which the
corrupt government officials were caught.
