State will become strong when farmers will be empowered says CM

Latehar: Stating that his government is committed to encouraging the growth of the agriculture sector and farmers Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the state will become strong only when the farmers will be strengthened. Addressing a Palamu Divison Level Birsa Kissan Samaroh he said that many schemes have been started by the state government so that changes can come in the lives of the farmers. He urged the farmers to take advantage of the scheme and contribute in the development of the nation.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to doubling the income of farmers and with the use of modern technological innovation and modern equipment productivity is being increased and to make sure that farmers do not face a lack of capital in the last five months under KCC Rs 1313 crore has been approved which has benefitted 1.25 lakh farmers. He said that farming and animal husbandry forms the background of rural areas of the state and are source of income for the villagers.

He said that since it is difficult to imagine life without Annadatta therefore it is the responsibility of everyone to
give them their due honour and the state government apart from ensuring their respect and honour is also providing them with all necessary facilities.

The Chief Minister said that farmers have so much strength and capabilities that they can change the system and it is the responsibility of the government that farmers get their rights therefore the government is working for their betterment 24×7. He said that since the axis of rural economy revolves around agriculture and animal husbandry therefore unless they become strong the villages blocks districts and states can not become strong so that the government has launched many schemes giving due importance to agriculture and animal husbandry so that farmers can become economically strong and make the state stand among developed states of the nation. H

e said that despite the cost of food grains rising the producers are not getting it’s benefit therefore there is a need to think upon as to how their income can be increased and they can get the right price of their hardwork. He said that the state government has given instructions to the officials to make sure that they do not face problems related to fertilizers and seeds.

The Chief Minister said that after formation of state in 20 years only Rs 400 crore was waived off as loan wavier under his government loan wavier worth Rs 900 crore has been approved. Further benefits of KCC is being extended to such farmers whose loan has been waived off he said that for the development of the state many people gave their sacrifices but unfortunately they did not get it’s benefits as migration still continues for work but his government has started many schemes so that youth can get work near their homes and villages.

He said that the state government has started many schemes for employment and empowerment of people and effort is being made so that people can advantage of various schemes of the state government however to avail the benefits the people too needed to ensure their participation. Cabinet Ministers Joba Manjhi and Badal along with local MLAs Baidyanath Ram and Ramchandra Singh and senior officials of the state government were present on the occasion.
