BJP to observe ‘Black Day’ on June 25

Ranchi: BJP will be observing a Black Day on June 25. Addressing a press conference Ranchi MLA CP Singh said that on June 25, 1975, the then Congress government of Indira Gandhi had imposed an emergency across the nation which was a murder of democracy.

He said that Congress had censored the press and all leaders of opposition were sent to jail following which a massive agitation was launched in the country and in the year 1977 a non-Congress government for the first time came into power. As part of remembering the emergency imposed on the country, it has been decided to observe Black Day on June 25.

He said that leaders of Congress should think twice before speaking about attacks on constitutional institutions. He said that by protesting against the ED questioning of Rahul Gandhi the Congress party has tried to bring down the morale of such institutions however the people of the nation are watching their acts.

CP Singh said that on that day functions will be held across the state in which senior leaders of the state will be participating. He said that while state president Deepak Prakash will be in Ranchi, Babulal Marandi will be in Dumka, Union Minister Arjun Munda will be in Khunti and former Chief Minister Raghubar Das will be attending the function in Jamshedpur.
