Ranchi: The mood of the weather in Jharkhand has changed a bit as due to rain and cloudy sky in many districts of the state, the temperature has dropped and people have got relief from the scorching sun and heat.
According to the Meteorological Department, people can get relief from the heat till May 7. There is a possibility of rain with thunder in Gumla, Pakur, Deoghar, Dumka and Godda and a yellow alert has been issued regarding this.
According to the forecast f the Meteorological Center, people of Jharkhand can get relief from the heat till May 7. On Tuesday, there was rain in the north-eastern, southern and central parts of the state. On May 4, there may be moderate rain in the southern and central parts of the state. On May 5 and 6, there may be rain in the northeastern, southern and central parts of the state. On May 7 and 8, there will be a partly cloudy sky.
It rained in many areas in the last 24 hours. The highest rainfall of about 40 mm occurred in Barkagaon (Hazaribagh) area. Apart from this, it rained around 36 mm in Jarmundi, 23 in Godda, 20 in Dumka, 19 in Dumri, 14 mm in Chaibasa. The maximum temperature of the capital has dropped by seven degrees celsius in the last four days and now it has come to 34 degree Celsius.
In the month of April this year, there was not even a single day of rain that could be recorded in the capital. This is the first time since 1999 when it did not rain for a single day in the capital Ranchi in the entire month of April. Due to this, the maximum temperature of the capital crossed 40 degrees celsius half a dozen times. From 1969 till now, in 1974, 1989, 1995 and 1999, there was no rain in the capital even for a single day in the month of April.
According to the data received from the Meteorological Center, the capital received a maximum of 10 days of rain in the month of April in 1971. On average, it rains for five to seven days in April. The average April temperature of the capital this year was 39.4 degrees celsius.
The heatwave lasted for four days. In April this year, Daltonganj had a heatwave for 16 days. This is the highest in the last five years. Heatwave prevailed in Jamshedpur for four days in April.
Scientists at the weather station said that due to climate change, change is visible at the global level. While the ocean currents have become disturbed due to the melting of polar ice, on the other hand, the condition of Al-Nino in the Pacific Ocean has been active for five months.
Western Disturbances arising in the Atlantic Ocean are not getting much effective. In such a situation, there is a continuous lack of moisture in the Indian land and warm westerly winds are active at the lower and middle levels. This is the reason for the formation of heatwaves in March and April.
