Ranchi: Ranchi police have gone out for a massive security deployment across the state capital to maintain law and order in wake of the festival of EID which will be celebrated on Tuesday.
On Monday, a security drill was conducted in the urban area to check the mobility and quick deployment capability of the police force. Over 200 cops on bikes, all PCR vans besides over 50 police vans were deployed in the security drill.
The mobility drill was conducted in many areas during the day as well as in other parts in the afternoon.
The drill was conducted to check how well the department can mobilize force besides to warn antisocial elements that the police will take strong action if law and order are disturbed by them, said Ranchi City SP Anshuman. He said that for maintaining law and order 600 additional policemen have been provided to Ranchi police.
Besides by doing internal mobilization the total strength is likely to be near 1000 he said adding that a company of the CRPF and Rapid Action Force will also be deployed. All police stations have been asked to stay alert. In the sensitive localities security has been enhanced, he said.
