CM directs officials to develop Civil Aviation Department as Revenue Model, set solar parks in airport premises

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday directed the officials to develop the Civil Aviation Department as a revenue model.

Chairing a review of the Civil Aviation Department he said that it will help in bettering the civil aviation services. In the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on the commercial use of civil aviation, starting the flying academy, formation of a civil aviation directorate, and establishing solar parks on airport premises were discussed in detail during the meeting.

He said that under the present circumstances apart from making the civil aviation department in sync with the needs of the government there is a need to make the department more commercial so that the government can get
additional revenue. He asked the officials to explore the options of tourism circuit and providing ambulance service and other opportunities. The Chief Minister said that if needed the government will provide more choppers.

The Chief Minister also suggested the officials to set up a flying academy for creating better opportunities for the youth and arrangements for providing air hostess training should be also made. He said that all the basic infrastructure are present for starting the flying academy in the state and its optimum utilization should be made. He also asked the officials to come up with a detailed work plan by July 31 over how new schemes and projects can be started.

He said that there should be a facility for a night halt at the Birsa Munda Airport for which he directed the officials to remain in touch with companies providing air traveling services. He said that if the facility of night halt is present then very early in the morning there would be flights available which will be beneficial for the travelers.

He directed the officials to set up Solar Parks in Dumka, Dhanbad, Giridih, Bokaro and Deoghar. He categorically asked to set up the Civil Aviation Directorate in the state. The Chief Minister said that the benefits of civil aviation should reach the maximum number of people. Chief Secretary Sukhdeo Singh and other senior officials of the state government were also present on the occasion.
