Collection of 107 percent commercial tax in the financial year 2021-22 says Secretary

Ranchi: Secretary of the Commercial Tax Department Aradhana Patnaik has said that the department has collected a total of Rs 19,750 crore in commercial tax in the financial year 2021-22, which is 107 percent more than the earlier set target.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday she said a target of collection of Rs 18,422 crores was set in the financial year 2021-22.

She informed that the tax collected in the financial year 2021-22 is 25 percent more than the Rs 16,147 crore in the financial year 2020-21.

The Secretary said that for the first time in the State, the Intelligence and Revenue Analysis Wing was constituted and sector-wise analysis was done, which has yielded positive results. It is expected that in the current financial year also, the department will be able to collect commercial tax as per the target. She said that in order to strengthen the audit wing, the office of the Commissioner of Taxes has been made more efficient.

The Secretary said that if the taxpayers face any kind of tax-related problems, then the team of the department will always be available for them. In the current financial year, the department will regularly interact with the taxpayers for their convenience, so that their problems can be solved with ease.
