DC & SSP chair District level peace committee meeting held in wake of Ramnavami celebrations

Ranchi: Under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Ranchi Chhavi Ranjan a meeting of the District Level Peace Committee was held on Wednesday regarding celebrations of Ramnavami. In the meeting Senior Superintendent of Police Surendra Jha, City SP, Rural SP, Sub-Divisional Officer Sadar and Bundu, Additional District Magistrate, Law and Order, Station House Officer, concerned Police Officer, CO, BDO and members of Mahavir Mandal, Chaiti Durga Puja Committee, Nari Sena, various peace committees and enlightened people of the society participated.

In the meeting, it was urged to celebrate the upcoming festival peacefully and with brotherhood. In his address during the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan said that it is the responsibility of all the people to conduct Ramnavami festival in a peaceful and harmonious manner in the district. He said that people should celebrate festivals with brotherhood and set an example for others. He said that the committees should take out their procession according to the guidelines issued by the state government for religious processions.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the administration is ready for all possible cooperation to ensure that the Ramnavami is complete and peaceful. He said that a progressive society is where the administration stays behind and the society is ahead. He said that people should celebrate Ramnavami together in a cordial atmosphere.

He said that all people are equal for the administration but those who would disturb the atmosphere will be dealt with strictly. During the festival, the Deputy Commissioner said to avoid any kind of rumor on social media. He said that if people get baseless information on social media, first of all it should be verified and informed to the officials.

During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Chhavi Ranjan said that there is UPSC exam on April 10, which will be in three shifts therefore it should be ensured there is no problem for the students coming from other cities. In  is address, the Senior Superintendent of Police, referring to all religions, said that humanity is above all and people have to set an example of humanity. He said that the objective of the police is to restore peace and order and in this cooperation of people is important.

The SSP said that in view of the festival, preparations have been made in the entire district while the entire city is being monitored by CCTV. The SSP urged the people to stay away from rumours, he said that monitoring cells have been set up at the district level to ensure that no rumor is spread through social media and said that strict action will be taken by identifying those spreading rumours.
