Dhanbad, Mar 18: State’s Tourism Minister Amar Kumar Bauri inaugurated
the two Maithan Mahotsav at Gogna of this district.

to make Jharkhand prosperous and said that events like these are being
organised for the first time since the formation of the state. He said
that tourism can emerge as one of the top revenue generators for the
state.
He said that events like these help to build the image of the place
inside and outside of the country. He said that most of the tourists
spots in Jharkhand are located in the rural areas, the tourists too
earlier use to fear of security while visiting the state but now the
perception has been changing. Bauri said that the state government
would develop all the tourists spots so that people in large numbers
can reach here.
The minister said that soon the fortunes of Maithan Sports Hostel
would change and it would be developed as a five star hotel which
would also create employments for hundreds of people. He said that the
trend of organising Mahotsavs started from Itkhori and has catched on
further.
Nirsa MLA Arup Chatterjee said that there was no point organising
events only as people of the area know that on several occasions he
has raised the plight of the Maithan Hostel in the Vidhan Sabha but
nothing happened. Moreover letters written to the state government and
DVC also failed to have any positive outcome due to which the hostel
was in shambles. He hoped that things would change in future.
Those present also included DC A Dode, SSP Manoj Ratan Chouthe and
various other officials of the district administration.
