More than half Science students failed in 12 th board

Ranchi, Jun 7: The Jharkhand Academic CouncilĀ  declared results for its inter science and commerce streams with results in science witnessing a decline of 4 per cent compared to previous year while that of commerce went up by 7 per cent.

 

The results of the exams were declared by JAC president Arvind Kumar Singh. He said that a total of 93871 students had applied for science exams out of which 92405 had appeared in the exams while in commerce 40,928 students had applied while a total of 40, 244 students appeared in the exams. Mr Singh said that Deepak Kumar of St Xaviers College Ranchi has stopped in the state in science stream while Nayab Arzoo of Ursuline Inter College has stood first in the commerce stream.

 

The JAC chairman said that a total of 16,618 students had passed in first division in science while 26,333 students stood second while another 1711 students passed in third division. He said that a total of 44,677 students passed in the exam with overall passing percentage of 48.34 per cent.

He said that in commerce 6127 people stood first while 18,267 passed in second division while another 2770 students passed in the third division. He said that overall 27,164 students passed in the exams with overall passing per centage of 67.49 per cent.

Mr Singh said that this year in the overall results the girls had outshined the boys. In Science stream a total of 26414 students had appeared out of which 13,316 have passed while in commerce 16,949 students had appeared out of which 12,838 have passed.

In science Deepak Kumar has topped with 460 marks while Kajal Kumari of St Vaviers College Ranchi was second with 456 marks while third position was bagged by Nishant Sankalp of Hazaribagh Science College 454 marks.

In commerce Nayab Arzoo stood first with 438 marks while the second position was bagged by two other students of Ursuline Inter College including Vishaka Kumari and Nasifa Samad who both bagged 437 marks while Shambhavi Kumari of Ursuline bagged third position with 436 marks.
