Lack of Corona test kits across various districts of state

Ranchi: Many districts of the state are facing a shortage of corona test kits for the last two-three months due to this the speed of corona investigation has come down significantly for the last two to three months. According to the MCA report released by the Health Department on October 8, truenet tests kits were found short in 12 out of 24 districts (Bokaro, Dhanbad, Dumka, Garhwa, Hazaribagh, Jamtara, Khunti, Koderma, Seraikela and West Singhbhum) in the state.

6 (Bokaro, Dhanbad, East Singhbhum, Garhwa, Godda and Jamtara) district has a severe shortage of Rapid Antigen Kits and Palamu district VTM Kits (RTPCR). Of these, there is no TrueNet kit left in Bokaro, Dhanbad, Garhwa, Jamtara and Khunti and not a single rapid antigen kit in Godda.

Despite this, the Health Department has selected the investigating agency instead of arranging test kits to increase the speed of investigation in these districts, for which the government will pay Rs 250 per test sample. In this regard, NHM’s campaign director Bhuvnesh Pratap Singh said that samples of Covid are being tested in the state in many ways including Truenet, RAT etc. With this, recently the Health Department has selected an agency named JIT, which will test 12,000 samples daily, the cost of which will be paid by the state government of Rs 250 per sample.

For this, the common man will not have to pay any money. In such a situation, the test kit will no longer be needed. The agency will be responsible for how to test the samples the team will collect samples from those districts and give it to the agency for investigation in the districts where the investigation is decreasing.
