HC expresses anguish after Rural SP made government witness over black marketing of Redmesivir in capital

Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court on Friday expressed its disappointment after Ranchi Rural SP was made a government witness in the case related to black marketing of Redmesivir in Ranchi.

The bench of Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan and Justice SN Prasad while hearing the case asked the government as to why not prior information was given to the court before making the Rural SP a government witness in the case.

The court said that when the case is being monitored by the High Court itself therefore before filing the charge sheet the SIT should have informed the court accordingly. The court later directed ADG Anil Palta who is heading the SIT in the case to appear before it in the next hearing via video conferencing.

The court further directed that the charge sheet and the documents related to the formation of the SIT be submitted before the court.
