Markets open till late, buses also start plying

Ranchi: After the state government announced a fresh set of relaxations the markets after a long time remained open till late in the night on Thursday.

As per the new guidelines shops across all 24 districts will remain open till 8 pm. However, a complete lockdown will be observed on Sunday during which all shops (including vegetable-fruit-grocery shops) will remain closed from 8 pm on Saturday to 6 am on Monday. But establishments related to healthcare and milk stores will remain open.

Cinema halls, bars, multiplexes, restaurants have also started to open with 50 percent capacity. However, since the notification came late on Wednesday night therefore they could not resume operations.

On Thursday at these places, staff and employees were seen cleaning and sanitizing the premises. Even at the s, gymnasiums, and parks will be cleanliness works was witnessed.

The government has allowed the movement of buses within the state with the transport department coming out with a separate set of instructions to operate the buses and other means of public transport. However, the department had made it clear that there will be no hike in the fare and all norms of Covid-19 will be observed in operating the buses.

The major bus stands in the capital including Kanta Toli, ITI etc saw a very little turnout of the travellers due to which very few buses operated on select routes. On the other hand, bus owners were also involved in getting their buses sanitised and cleaned.

People involved directly and indirectly in the public transport sector are hopeful that in one or two days the situation will improve and people will be stepping out to travel.
