DC chairs virtual meeting of Covid Task Force, asks officials not to get relaxed

Ranchi: Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan virtually chaired a meeting of the Covid Task Force on Tuesday. While reviewing the functioning of various cells and vaccination work set up for the prevention of spread corona infection in the district he gave necessary directions to the concerned officials. Nodal officers, circle officers, block development officers and other concerned officers were present in the meeting. While reviewing the functioning of various cells during the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that the rate of corona infection has come down in the district, but there is no time to relax yet. In view of the possibility of a third wave of Corona he directed all the cells to work pro-actively. He said that there was a need to learn from past mistakes and prepare for the future.

While reviewing the contact tracing and home isolation cell, he inquired about the updated situation from the Sub-Divisional Officer, Bundu. He directed SDO Bundu and DSP Sadar to hold meetings with the private labs and provide complete information related to the person conducting the test so that there is no problem in contact tracing. While directing close monitoring of the works of the cell, he said that the incident commander should do the work of barricading and postering seriously so that people can get a clear idea about where the containment zone is and people can avoid infection. He also directed SDO Bundu and AC Ranchi to review and report how many people were tracked and how many barricading, postering were done in the last 10 days.

In view of the possible third wave of the corona, more and more people should be vaccinated in the district the DC said adding that with the removal of the age group’s compulsion for vaccination the concerned officials should get the task of vaccination done rapidly with the update being also put up on the Cowin portal.

The Deputy Commissioner directed to increase the number of teams for vaccination from 100 to 150. Along with this, he directed all the Block Development Officers to prepare a village-wise plan and get the people vaccinated. He also asked to increase vaccination in rural areas through mobile vans.

During the meeting, he also inquired into the Covid tests happening in the district. The Deputy Commissioner took information about RAT and TrueNat test from the senior officers. Reviewing the block-wise testing, the Deputy Commissioner directed all the BDOs to complete the target of tests. He directed the Sub-Divisional Officer, Ranchi to give a report related to the manpower and resources available for testing by holding a meeting with all the BDOs. The DC said that the continuity of Covid testing should be maintained in the district. The Deputy Commissioner also directed to ensure corona test of people coming from outside.

In the meeting, he inquired from Civil Surgeon Ranchi about the status of Child Covid Ward being built in Sadar Hospital. The Civil Surgeon said that the Child Covid Ward would be completely ready in the next 2-3 days. For the 60-bed Child Covid Ward in Sadar Hospital, the Deputy Commissioner directed to conduct training of paramedics and doctors at regular time intervals. He directed the Civil Surgeon to make a training schedule of three months.
