Education is the strongest medium to remove poverty: Raghubar

Ranchi, Jan 8: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that education was the strongest medium to remove poverty from the state.

Flagging an awareness creating van over ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ campaign he said that education is the biggest possible asset which the people can avail in life. He said that an awareness regarding education should be spread to every corner of the state. He said that when a girl child is educated that two families are benefitted.

Mr Das said that the girls of Jharkhand are capable to stand on their feet all what was needed that they get an opportunity. He lauded the steps taken by one Ritu Kumari of Gumla who did not agree to marry and rather decided to continue her study. Mr Das said that the state government would not only incur the expense of Ritu but would also give her a sum of Rs 1 lakh as felicitation award.

The Chief Minister said that the state government was working for the cause of the tribals, dalits and the poor. Those who were also present on the occasion included Development Commissioner Amit Khare, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sanjay Kumar, Urban Development Principal Secretary Arun Kumar Singh and other officials.
