All preparations put into place as vaccination for 18 plus to commence in Jharkhand from Friday

Ranchi: The Jharkhand Government has completed all the preparations for the vaccination of the people in the age group 18-44 years which is all set to commence in the state from Friday onwards.

So far till May 10, the state government has 4,14,340 doses of Covaxin and 2,34,400 doses of Covishield from the quota of the centre while from the state government stock there are 1,34,400 doses of Covaxin and 1,00,000 Covishield. All the vaccines will be given free of cost to the people.

Districts wise allocation of vaccines in total is as follows: Bokaro (6860), Chatra (14730), Deoghar (17330), Dhanbad (23270), Dumka (39910), East Singhbhum (9640), Garhwa (17200), Giridih (32340), Godda (16860), Gumla (15200), Hazaribagh (26710), Jamtara (12810), Khunti (20310), Koderma (11350), Latehar (11250), Lohardaga (18760), Pakur (16900), Ramgarh (5570), Ranchi (16140), Sahebganj (15990), Saraikela (1960) and West Singhbhum (13650).

The state government has completed all preparations for the vaccination drive and so far 30,000 people have made their registration. In cities like Ranchi, Bokaro and other urban areas there is huge enthusiasm among the people for the vaccination but there are many districts which have given a lukewarm response to vaccination.

The state government is taking help of all possible means to spread awareness among the people and even though regional languages awareness is being spread among the people regarding the vaccination. The government has issued advertisements in Santhali, Mundari, Ho etc and even women of Sakhi Mandals are also involved in spreading the awareness. The Chief Minister himself has taken the vaccine and given a message that there was no harm in the vaccination and is the best tool to defeat Coronavirus.
