Maoist wanted in connection with murder of Rohtas DFO surrenders before Palamu police

Daltonganj,  Dec 29: An hardcore ultra of the CPI (Maoists) Sahdeo
Singh Khairwar alias Sahdeo Khairwar alias Sahdeo Bhokta alias Vinay
Singh  surrendered before the Palamu Police .

In a function organised at the police line here the Maoist who was
wanted in connection with the murder of DFO of Rohtas district of
neighbouring Bihar surrendered before Palamu DC Amit Kuamr and SP
Inderjeet Mahtha. DFO Sanjay Singh was abducted and later killed by
the Maoists including Shadeo Khairwar in 2002 under Nauhata Police
Station area of Rohtas district. The matter is currently being probed
by the CBI which had also declared an award of Rs 1 lakh on Shahdeo..
As part of the surrender policy of the Jharkhand Government the Maoist
was given a cheque of Rs 50,000 while another Rs 2 lakh would be paid
to him later. Speaking after laying down his weapon the Maoist said
that he had been part of the ultras which was involved in various
criminal acts in the region.
