Khunti, Dec 10: Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that in the course of the next two years Khunti would be brought on par on the index of development with the state capital Ranchi.
Addressing the people after laying the foundation stone for party office here he said that the district has been blessed by nature as the entire area was full of forest cover. He said that there was tremendous opportunities in the area of lac cultivation and people can become self employeed by joining the section. He said that the lac bangles made in Khunti are exported to seven countries.
The Chief Minister said that women of the area are hard working and they can create self employment by becoming part of the Sakhi Mandals and said that the government would set by lac processing unit in the district after which the people would not be forced to sell the lac on throw away prices as it would be purchased by the district administration.
Mr Das said that the government would be giving two cows each and would purchase the milk from them and said that no one would be unemployed in the district by 2022. He said that the sate government was setting up a skill university which would help the youth get trained and bag jobs. He said that the state government was also encouraging honey cultivation and apart from training was also giving an initial capital of Rs 30,000. He said that the government would set up a Jhar Honey processing plant in this district. He said that such would be the development in the state so that people would not have to run after ‘Lal Cards or Peela Cards’.
