Government accepts adulterated kerosene distributed in Hazaribagh, CM says all guilty to be punished

Ranchi: The state government on Tuesday accepted that adulterated kerosene was distributed in some areas of Hazaribagh.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday said that the state government has taken note of the matter and issued orders to the officials to help the family of the victims. He said that those who have died will be given a compensation of Rs 4 lakh.

However, the Chief Minister said that the issue was confined to some particular area and the officials were monitoring the situation. He said that the kerosene samples have been also sent to the laboratory and the test report has come out. He said that the name of the dealer through whom the kerosene has been distributed has also come out before the authorities.

He said that the government was sad over the incident and assured the house if any official or any other person is involved in this than action will be taken against them.

Earlier Hazaribagh Sadar MLA Manish Jaiswal raised the issue and said that the blast in the kerosene started happening from February 9 which continued on 15, 16 and 20 February in which so so far five people have lost their lives and many others are injured.

He said that after the initial incident the district administration had claimed that all the kerosene has been taken back but still the blasts were happening. He also demanded for strict action against officials who are involved in this requested the state government to also make arrangements for the treatment of the injured people.
