JMM to organise one day dharna over rising petrol prices on Mar 1

Ranchi: The ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has decided to stage a one day dharna across all the district headquarters on March 1 protesting against the rising cost of petroleum products in the country.

JMM general secretary and spokesperson Binod Pandey on Tuesday said that while on one hand in the international market the prices of crude oil has decreased on the other hand there has been an unexpected increase in the prices of diesel petrol and LPG which is a reflection of policy and intentions of the central government.

He said that the BJP which came into power by raising slogans against price rise and inflation has forgot its own words. He said that due to negligent attitude towards the agitation of the farmers nearly 250 farmers have lost their lives.

He said that to protest the anti-people policies of the central government which has resulted into the increase in the prices of petroleum products and against the step motherly attitude adopted by the central government towards the farmers the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has planned to stage a statewide agitation as part of which on February 28 at all the district headquarters torch light procession would be taken out while on March 1 dharna would be staged.
