Former Minister Raja Peter remanded four days of NIA custody

Ranchi, Oct 9: Former Minister Gopal Krishna Patar alias Raja Peter was arrested by the National Investigating Agency MOnday in connection with the murder of former minister and MLA Ramesh Singh Munda.

 

Raja Peter was today presented by the NIA before the court of justice D K Pandey and demanded a seven day remand for him. Thye court remanded him to four days of NIA custody.  Earlier the entire court premises was filled with police and security personnel before he was brought to the court.

The NIA had yesterday late night itself had taken into custody Raja Peter who has been accused the main accused who hatched the conspiracy of killing of JD(U) MLA and former Minister Ramesh Singh Munda on July 9, 2008.

Raja Peter has been accused that he paid the Maoists more than Rs 1 crore to get Ramesh Singh Munda killed. A team of the NIA had also conducted raids at his homes located in Tamar and Bundu, office, nursing home and hotel. The team has seized his license gun, diary and other documents from his home.

The NIA has also arrested ASI Sheshnath Singh from Jorapokhar of Dhanbad in this connection. He has been taken into remand till October 15. He was currently posted in Bhoran Police Station of Dhanbad and was accused of providing information to the Maoists regarding the movement of Munda. Sheshnath Singh was at that time his body guard.
