3 PLFI Maoists killed in gun battle with police in Jharkhand

Simdega, Sep 24: In an encounter between the security personnel and People’s Liberation Front of India, three ultras of the outfit were killed under Bano Police Station area of this district.

Ranchi Range DIG Amol V Homkar said that early in the morning on Sunday encounter took place between the security forces comprising the jawans of Jharkhand Jaguar and district police in which three ultras were killed whose bodies have been recovered.

He said that the security personnel were conducting a search operation in the area when the ultras of PLFI opened fire on the. In retaliation three ultras were killed. He said that the identitiy of the trio is yet to be ascertained.

An AK-47 rifle, a carbine and a machine gun alongwith huge cache of explsoives and other items have been recovered from the spot, the DIG said adding that additional force has been sent on the spot and search and combing operations were on in the area.

Meanwhile in Palamu from Jongta forest area located under Panki Police Station the police has recovered two rifles, four hand grenades and more than 100 live cartridges which had been kept hidden in the forest by the Maoists.
