Chief Secretary and DGP issue instruction to maintain law and order in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Sep 24: Jharkhand Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma and Director Genereal of Police D K Pandey  said that Jharkhand should be made a peaceful and crime free state for which it was necessary that the criminals fear the police while the common people have the trust on the law enforcement agencies.

Issuing elaborate instructions to the DC and the SPs of the state the duo said that every police station should prepare a profile of the crime, the gangs active, sensitive spots and crime prone areas. They said that to control crime all pending warrants be implemented and order of seizure be executed while CCA should also be implemented. They were asked to also hold review meetings with the public prosecutors over the pending cases and the sensitive and heinous crime be taken through fast track speedy trail.

The officials also directed the jail administration to conduct raids in the jails on regular intervals and asked to implement the e-prdouction, e-trial and e-mulakat. It was directed that all major criminals be shifted to other jails and they should be made to realize that they have committed crime. The inmates be also encouraged to maintain a steady life and learn from their mistakes.

Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma said that intelligence plays a vital role in controlling crime therefore the chowkidaars, officials of special wing and other sources be made active and their information should be taken seriously. The DGP said regular checking be conducted of all lodges, hotels and raids also be conducted at liquor hubs and gambling spots.

Both of them asked the DCs and the SPs to maintain social contact and get in touch with the Manki, Munda, Manjhi and Mukhiya and members of Mohalla Samiti and their participation be increased which would also help to curb crime and faith of the people increased.
