Gadkari promises 1000 kilometers of road projects for Jharkhand

anchi, Sep 11: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highway Nitin Gadkari  announced that his department would be gifting the state road projects worth 1000 kilometers by the end of October.

Addressing a function organized at the Vidhan Sabha grounds here as part of the celebrations of 1000 days of Raghubar Das government in the state he said that under Chief Minister Raghubar Das the government was going to complete 1000 days in power similarly his department by the end of next month would be gifting the state road projects of about 1000 kilometers.

 

On the occasion Mr Gadkari laid foundation stones and inaugurated projects worth Rs 5500 crore. Those who were also present on the occasion included Chief Minister Raghubar Das, his cabinet colleagues and several MPs and MLAs.

 

He said that Chief Minister Raghubar Das has ensured that corruption was removed from the state and job employment gathers pace in the state. He said that India was a rich state but people poor and said that during elections votes are asked in the name of caste and later the winners indulge in making their own fortunes rather than caring for the people and same sight was being witnessed in the state and to the credit of the Chief Minister he has managed to check this tendency. Mr Gadkari said that on the day when the last person in the society would get clothes and food than only the dream of Antodaya of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay would be realized which is also the political ideology of the BJP.

 

The minister asked the Chief Minister to acquire land for the projects and in five years road projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore would be completed. He said that he never asks for funds from the finance ministry and said that NHAI was doing lots of projects in the country. He said that the Ranchi-Jamshedpur four lane project was a key issue for the state and soon a solution would be found for that. He said that the Prime Minister has given him a new ministry despite the fact that there was time related issues with him and but when the Prime Minister did not budge he asked him to give such a work which was not progressing after which he was given the water resources department. He said that the issue of river connectivity was the main cause for floods in the country and said that he was working on 30 plans for river connectivity in the country and in the next three months five projects in this regard would be started. He said that unless the irrigation capacity in the state increases to 50 pc it would not be able to have multi crops.
